Despite the fact that I experienced Spain under a very familiar Danish cloud cover, it was incredible. Barcelona is a really fun city and full of life!

My first experience walking down La Ramblas was definitely interesting, from the outdoor pet stores to the people dressed as dragons and jungle men. It was a crazy place, and packed with people and their umbrellas! Then I experienced their market.... it was so cool with beautiful fruit displays, fresh smoothies made right on the spot, every kind of meat and fish you could imagine, and loads of candy and chocolate. Some of the meat and fish was kind of disgusting but for the most part it was really cool to see!

The night life in Barcelona was a blast! Every night our hostel had an evening activity for us to go to. The took us to a bar for fun karaoke or a crazy night of clubbing until the early hours of the morning. Because of this lifestyle Barcelona goes to bed late (or early... if 5am is early or late i am not sure) and gets up late. Due to this as well they eat at crazy times. Lunch is late in the afternoon, which is the biggest meal of the day, then they siesta (or nap) which is my favorite part of they day, and finally they don't eat dinner until like 9 or 10 pm. It was definitely hard to get used to and then quickly go back to a normal schedule in Rome but it was fun for a few days!

Seeing Abbey, my best friend from school, in Barcelona definitely made my trip to Barcelona! We had so much fun and laughed so hard it was good to see a friend from home again. After a few rounds of Spanish tapas, a few trips up and down la Ramblas, some Gaudi architecture, and a crazy hostel experience my trip to Barcelona ended at an early 4am on Wednesday morning for my 7am flight to Roam with Susanne!

Pictures and a Rome update to come soon! It is hard to keep up with all the traveling I am doing!!
